Spring is here!

I love tulips. I love growing them and arranging them in bouquets. But most of all I love looking at them and painting them. I took these photos last year - beautiful "black" tulips - the color is actually more like dark shades of purple and burgundy. Just beautiful - I can't wait to paint more of these lovely flowers!

When I was living in Paris I would often go to the various parks and on one of my trips to Jardin des Plantes (the botanical garden) I decided to paint the people out for an afternoon walk. Did you ever notice how nicely everyone dresses, even for a casual walk in the park? Women wearing dresses and men in sharply pressed shirts or suits. Trés chic!
